Welcome to the second issue of Tuck Paradigm. In addition to our regular articles on business economics, this issue introduces a series of articles we call 'Research Threads'. They are discussions, between a Tuck professor and student, of the professor's contribution to a particular line of research. These articles have two purposes; firstly, to convey concepts from current research in business topics, and secondly, to illustrate the research process undertaken by Tuck's faculty, in which ideas are developed, tested and then reviewed and validated by the wider research community. The name 'Research Threads' was chosen because each article focuses on one thread of the interwoven fabric of ideas and projects that is academic research.

It was great to receive letters and comments in response to the first edition, two of which are published here. As well as letters about the articles in this issue, we would be very pleased to receive general comments about the Paradigm at Samuel.Wylie@Dartmouth.Edu.
