Teaching

Prior to coming to Tuck, Professor Eckbo taught corporate finance at the Faculty of Commerce (now the Sauder Business School), University of British Columbia (1981-96), and a PhD course on the theory of finance at the Stockholm School of Economics (1996-98).

Since arriving at Tuck in 1998, Professor Eckbo has taught MBA electives such as “Advanced Corporate Finance,” “International Corporate Governance,” and for the first time in 2010, the Research-to-Practice course called “Corporate Takeovers: Modern Empirical Developments,”

Professor Eckbo has also taught at several other schools as a visiting professor, including UCLA, INSEAD, Vanderbilt, and MIT. Moreover, a native of Norway, Professor Eckbo regularly guest-teaches an intensive PhD course called “Topics in Corporate Finance” at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (Bergen, Norway), where he also gives finance and investment lectures to financial analysts and corporate executives.
