RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Howell has combined a career as an academic, consultant, and executive across a broad spectrum of assignments to position himself as a leading authority on corporate governance and financial measurement analysis, reporting, and control practices. His current interests focus on changing governance practices in the wake of corporate abuses and new regulations, and financial analysis, reporting, and control practices.

TEACHING INTERESTS

Dr. Howell has taught financial and managerial accounting, internal reporting and control systems, corporate financial management, financial statement analysis, management strategy and policy, and turnaround management in Executive MBA, MBA, MS in Accounting and DBA programs.

CURRENT PROJECTS

"Improving Financial Reporting", a white paper aimed at influencing the SEC and FASB as they deliberate changes to financial reporting.
