Tuck Volunteers

The commitment is small, but the impact is huge!

Tuck Volunteers is a part of the James M. Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship.  The Allwin Initiative focuses on enhancing the Tuck MBA experience through education and community outreach.  Tuck Volunteers is the part of the Initiative that enlists students to take time from their busy academic schedules to give back to the Upper Valley Community.  The club is organized to allow students to volunteer  when their schedules afford it and lets members determine their own level of participation.

Volunteer initiatives include recurring commitments: Junior Achievement is a program in which Tuck students teach elementary school classes on business basics.  Everybody Wins pairs elementary school kids up with Tuck students for a weekly reading hour.  Annual events such as Run for the Kids enable Tuck students to raise funds for local children's organizations.

Tuck Volunteers organizes a Day of Service each term of the academic year on which students volunteer for a variety of half-day projects based on local needs.  Organizations include:

  • Children's Center of the Upper Valley,

  • Upper Valley Wood Fuel Bank,

  • Upper Valley Humane Society,

  • Enfield Shaker Museum,

  • Mascoma Senior Center,

  • Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center

  • Thedford Volunteer Fire Department

  • COVER

  • The Haven

  • Chore Corps

  • The Outreach House

Tuck students are also encouraged to establish new volunteer initiatives that benefit the community.
