Mission & Goals

Our goals are threefold:

Academic Goals

Encourage professors to add cases on the media industry

The media industry has been undergoing dynamic changes. It is crucial that we are familiar with the strategic trends in recent years, as numerous business opportunities surround the evolvement of the driving technology. We will discuss with professors of strategy, technology, and entrepreneurship on appropriate cases to be added to the syllabus in order to enhance our two-year curriculum.

Invite business leaders from the media and entertainment industry to speak in classes

At a time when business decisions rely so heavily on information, the value of learning how information is produced as a service is immense. Students will learn a great deal from business leaders who are actually developing media strategy, packaging the content, and delivering the service. We will organize events in conjunction with other organizations. (Discussed later.)

Professional Goals

Sponsoring recruiting events for first-year Tuck students

Although pursuing a job opportunity in media and entertainment is challenging, on-campus resources are extremely limited. In order to support and facilitate the recruiting process, we will discuss partnership opportunities with the Technology Club among others on hosting informational sessions and recruiting trips.

Attract prospective students with media and entertainment industry interest

We believe that our activity will demonstrate that a Tuck MBA could lead to a career in media or entertainment. The diverse interests of students will undoubtedly enhance the learning quality at Tuck.

Attract major M&E companies to recruit on campus

We look to collaborate with the Career Services Office in order to invite major media and entertainment firms to conduct on-campus interviews. As media and entertainment firms often do not value an MBA, it will be part of our responsibility to demonstrate the value an MBA can provide.

Reinforce network with Tuck alumni

Given the limited resources available on campus, we will continue to enhance the relationships with Tuck alumni in the media and entertainment industry in order to seek advice and support throughout the recruiting process. We are working on developing a comprehensive contact database geared toward students conducting job searches in Entertainment, Sports, and Media.

Social Goals

Provide high-quality entertainment to the community

We will sponsor social activities around industry events such as The Oscars and the Super Bowl.
