Ramsey Jay Jr. T’05 Ramsey Jay, Jr. is an Associate Analyst at Ares Management, an investment management firm specializing in managing assets in both the private equity and leveraged finance markets. Prior to joining Ares Management, Ramsey had a career as an investment professional in Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management Division where he advised high net worth families and foundations. In 2007, Ramsey was selected as one of EBONY Magazine’s “Top 30 Young Leaders Under 30,” is a featured financial expert on the Rolonda Watts Show, and has provided financial advice to mid-career professionals in a number of United States government agencies. Ramsey is a Professional Class Member of NextGen Network Inc., (an affiliate of The Executive Leadership Council™) and a 2007 International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) Fellow at the Aspen Institute. Ramsey is actively involved in community service and has collaborated with music icon Chaka Khan and Chris Gardner (The Pursuit Of Happyness) to create and deliver financial literacy workshops for students in conjunction with the Chaka Khan Foundation. Ramsey serves on the Board of the New West Symphony, the Steering Committee for the Cedar Sinai Sports Spectacular, and is a Director of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Los Angeles. Additionally, Ramsey is the Founder & CEO of Elite Capital Development, an organization that develops customized programs for athletes to ensure success after their high-profile sports career concludes. In 2005, he received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. At Tuck, Ramsey was elected by his classmates to serve as the class student speaker during graduation, was selected to address the incoming Tuck class of 2006 at the Tuck Day of Service dinner, and conducted numerous workshops on campus in the areas of leadership and networking. Ramsey was also a Consortium Fellow and an active and involved member of the Tuck community. Ramsey served as a member of the Student roundtable for the Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship, the Tuck Diversity Advisory Board, the Tuck African American Business Association and Toastmasters. Ramsey has been awarded numerous distinctions, including the Jack Welch Award for Excellence in Management Communications, the Craig School of Business Outstanding Financial Management Award, the Linda Baldwin Riordan Fellow of the Year Award, and was the first recipient of the His-Jui-Shen Tuck ’28 scholarship. Peter Sisson, T’94 Peter Sisson is a successful serial entrepreneur. He is currently founder and CEO of Toktumi, a provider of VoIP-based office phone services for small businesses. Prior to that, he was co-Founder and CEO of Teleo, a VoIP application software company that was acquired by Microsoft in 2005. Before that, he founded Mixonic Custom Media, an online CD and DVD production and distribution business that is profitable and growing 70% year over year. Prior to that, he founded Wineshopper.com, which was funded by Amazon.com and Kleiner Perkins, and was later merged into wine.com. Peter was named one of the top 10 people to watch by CNET in 1999. Prior to starting his first company, he was an equity analyst following small-cap telecom equipment companies in the IP Telephony and CTI Industries at Montgomery Securities, where he co-authored a 60 page industry study “voice and Fax over IP Networks” published in January of 1998. Before that, he managed international telecom market entry, technology strategy, and regulatory projects at Arthur D. Little for clients including Bell Atlantic, Telefonica, Motorola, Nortel, the Government of Columbia, and the European Union. While there he authored “The New WtO Telecom Agreement,” published in Telecommunications magazine, analyzing the potential impact of regulatory changes on world telecom markets. He obtained his BA from Cornell, his MS in computer science from Stanford University, and his MBA from Tuck. Pamela J. Joyner, D’79 Pamela J. Joyner is the managing partner and founder of Avid Partners, LLC. Ms. Joyner’s expertise is advising investment managers and private investment groups in developing and implementing investment strategies in the alternative investment arena. Her primary focus in assisting established investment management firms in the diversification, product positioning and global distribution of their investment programs. Prior to founding Avid Partners in 2000, Ms. Joyner was a Partner at Bowman Capital Management, LLC and worked for a number of years in the marketing and client service group at Capital Guardian Trust Company. Ms. Joyner’s other investment experience includes positions at Fidelity Management Trust Company, Kidder Peabody and Merrill Lynch. Ms. Joyner is currently a Trustee of Dartmouth College and is on the College’s Nominating and Finance Committees, as well as serving as Chair of the Investment Committee. Additionally, she serves on the board of the Hopkins Center and the Hood Museum. Her other community involvements include serving as a Trustee of the San Francisco Ballet and of the Museum of African Diaspora, as well as a board member of the Harvard Business School Association of Northern California. Ms. Joyner received an AB and an honorary AM degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard University. Christopher J. Williams T’84 Christopher J. Williams is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of The Williams Capital Group, L.P. and Williams Capital Management, LLC. Mr. Williams began his career with Lehman Brothers in New York where he served as Senior Vice President with responsibilities in debt capital markets, derivatives, and fixed income securities trading. Upon leaving Lehman Brothers in 1992, Mr. Williams formed Williams Financial Markets, a division of Jefferies & Company, which specialized in structured financings for investment grade corporations. In 1993, Mr. Williams was contributing author for two academic textbooks that outlined the uses of financial derivatives. He founded The Williams Capital Group in 1994 and has directed its strategic effort in investment banking and its expansion into asset management. Williams Capital ranks consistently among the top 20 most active underwriters of corporate debt. In 2006, the firm served as co-manager on over 100 corporate debt, agency, and equity offerings with a total face amount of nearly $150 billion. Mr. Williams was selected by both Fortune magazine and Crain’s New York Business as one of the most powerful minority business leaders in America. Additionally Black Enterprise magazine has ranked Williams Capital as the number one minority-owned investment bank from 2001 through 2006. Mr. Williams currently serves as a director on corporate boards for two Fortune 500 companies. He also serves on the board of several not-for-profit organizations; the Partnership for New York City, The National Association of Securities Professionals, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc.; and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Mr. Williams is also a member of the Gotham Chapter of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and The Economic Club of New York. He is also a long standing supporter of The Fresh Air Fund and Partnership with Children. A graduate of Howard University, Mr. Williams also holds an MBA from Tuck. |
