When and where is the Tuck Diversity Conference held?
The evening of Thursday, November 1st, through Sunday, November 4th, at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Tuck is part of Dartmouth College, a member of the prestigious Ivy League, located in Hanover, N.H., on the banks of the Connecticut River in the heart of New England—an easy drive from Boston, New York, and Montreal.
How much does it cost to attend?
There is no fee to participate in conference events, though you are responsible for your own travel and accommodation expenses. Limited travel stipends may be available, depending on distance traveled. Please contact Tuck’s admissions office for details.
When was the conference founded?
The Diversity Conference was founded in fall 1994 by Tuck alumnus Scott Johnston T'93, who wanted an opportunity for alumni of color to reconnect with the school. Starting in fall 2001, Tuck started to invite prospective students up as well, so they could get a feel for what Tuck was about.
Why does Tuck hold the conference?
The Tuck Diversity Conference is our way of demonstrating to prospective students that, yes, you would fit in here and, in addition to being one of the top-ranked business schools, we value each other's contributions. Plus, the conference is a good chance to have some fun! It’s also one of the many ways we reconnect with the most enthusiastic alumni base of any top-tier business school (as reflected by an alumni giving rate of almost 65 percent, twice that of most other top institutions).
Who is invited to the conference?
Prospective students from diverse backgrounds are invited to apply for admission into the conference. Tuck alumni are also invited, along with all current Tuck students, faculty, and staff.
I am a prospective student. Why should I come to the conference?
Because, being an astute person, you realize that the only way to get a feel for a business school is to experience it first hand. Besides, you want to make sure that Tuck alumni are really as enthusiastic as everyone says. (They are.) You are looking forward to hearing—directly from the source—about the key to composing a perfect application and leveraging your future MBA degree to achieve your career goals. Finally, you relish a chance to interact with your peers, both fellow prospective and current students. And then throw in some dynamic speakers. So, the question really is—why
wouldn't you come to the Tuck Diversity Conference?
I am an alum. Why should I come to the conference?
This weekend gives you an opportunity to catch up with classmates and network with other Tuck alumni—some of whom you might not have met yet. Additionally, you can reconnect with Tuck, find out what's new, and have a chance to influence the school's future by showing prospective students what Tuck is all about.
Do prospective students meet with alumni?
Yes! Yes! Yes! The in-depth interaction with alumni separates the Tuck Diversity Conference from prospective events at other schools. After all, who is more qualified to tell you not only about life at Tuck, but also how an MBA from Tuck can enhance your career? We do separate the two parties for certain activities on the agenda, but that’s only to save alumni from sitting through workshops on preparing an MBA application or on getting a job after graduation—something they’ve presumably got down pat.
What else separates the Tuck Diversity Conference from similar weekends at other schools?
Besides getting to meet with Tuck alumni, you’ll get to experience life at Tuck, which is quite unique when it comes to top-tier business schools.
What separates Tuck from other schools?
What really differentiates Tuck is the vibrant, close-knit community here. This isn't just a two-year job program. We could write about it until our wrists fall off, but to really experience it, you should come join us in November and see for yourself.
Where can I stay during the conference?
As a prospective student, you’re invited to stay with current Tuck students. Or, if you prefer, feel free to reserve a room at the Hanover Inn or another local hotel. You can find a list of accommodations on the Tuck website:

I'm not done yet! I have a whole bunch of questions about Tuck.
While we can cut and paste with the best of them, if you need more information, it's probably time to switch over to the
Tuck website (www.tuck.dartmouth.edu). Additionally, feel free to contact the student co-chairs about the Tuck Diversity Conference or life at Tuck in general.
