Discussion Series

The DEC meets on a bi-weekly basis in various formats including classroom lectures, lunch discussions, dinner discussions, fireside chats and happy hours. The discussions are frequently led by industry leaders or Dartmouth professors and focus on a specific topic in the energy area (biofuel, solar, energy efficiency, etc) with relevant pre-readings provided.

Signature Events

Dartmouth Energy Symposium (Fall) – Discuss the future of energy and explore the relationships between energy and the broader environment, featuring three keynote speakers and five panel discussions.

Each panel discussion focused on a specific topic — such as the environment, government and policy or Dartmouth — and its connection to energy.
Panelists include professors, CEOs, senators and PhDs, and audience members are allowed to ask the experts questions relating to the topic at hand.

Cleantech Case Competition (Spring) – Teams from top business schools will compete to address an energy case and present their results to a panel of industry and academic judges.
