Location

Located in Hanover, N.H., in the heart of New England, near the intersection of Interstates 89 and 91, the Tuck School is 2 1/2 hours by car from Boston, 5 hours from New York, and 3 1/2 hours from Montréal. The town of Hanover, which is home to Dartmouth College, of which Tuck is a part, is located on the Connecticut River. The river provides the border between New Hampshire and Vermont, and Hanover is about half way up the state and just a bridge's length away from Vermont.
If you are traveling by air, there are several regional airports to choose from. You can also travel to nearby White River Junction, Vt., by bus or train.
 

By Car

From Boston take I-93 north to Concord, New Hampshire, then I-89 north to Exit 18 [Lebanon-Hanover]. Bear right at the exit, and follow Route 120 north to Hanover, which is approximately six miles. This route will bring you into Hanover past the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (not visible from the road). At the traffic light with a Mobil gas station on your right, the road forks; bear right. At the second light beyond this fork, turn left onto Route 10A (E. Wheelock Street). Proceed straight through a signal light passing the Dartmouth Green (a large open area) on your right and the Hanover Inn on your left. At the bottom of the hill, turn right immediately before the bridge onto Tuck Drive and then turn left into the Ledyard Canoe Club Parking Lot. Follow the signs and the balloons up the staircase at the far end of the parking lot to the Tuck School.

From Manchester, New Hampshire, take I-293 south to I-93 north, then I-89 north and then to Exit 18 as above. (Directions from Boston)

From New York take I-95 north to I-91 north, or I-684 north and I-84 east to Hartford, Connecticut, then I-91 north to Vermont Exit 13 [Norwich-Hanover]. Bear right at the exit and cross the Connecticut River. Turn left immediately after the bridge onto Tuck Drive and then turn left into the Ledyard Canoe Club Parking Lot. Follow the signs and the balloons up the staircase at the far end of the parking lot to Tuck School.

From Montréal take I-89 south to I-91 north and then to Vermont Exit 13 as above. (Directions from New York) From Burlington, Vermont, take I-89 south to I-91 north and then to Vermont Exit 13 as above. (Directions from New York) From West Lebanon, New Hampshire take I-89 north across the bridge into Vermont, then I-91 north and then to Vermont Exit 13 as above. (Directions from New York)

By Air

Lebanon Airport: The nearest airport is in Lebanon, N.H., about 10 miles from campus. It is very small and convenient but often closed in the winter due to bad weather. You can fly into Lebanon from New York. Take a taxi to Hanover and ask the driver to take you to the circle in front of the Tuck School on the Dartmouth campus. If there is no cab waiting at the airport, call for one at the pay phone where the cab numbers are listed.

Manchester Airport: The Manchester (New Hampshire) Airport is served by many major airlines, including Delta, United, and Southwest. It is located about 80 miles southeast of Hanover. Rental cars are available at the airport, and the drive to Hanover takes approximately 90 minutes. Follow signs to I-93 north, then follow the By Car directions from Boston, above.

The Vermont Transit bus company provides transportation from the Manchester Airport to Hanover. Buses wait outside the airline terminal to transport you to the Vermont Transit station, where you purchase a ticket and then continue to Hanover. You may also buy a ticket online. Burlington Airport: Burlington (Vermont) Airport is about 75 miles northwest of Hanover. Rental cars are available, and the drive to Hanover takes approximately two hours. Take I-89 south to I-91 north. Stay on I-91 north to Exit 13. Follow the street directions above.

Logan Airport, Boston: Logan Airport is about 120 miles southeast of Hanover. Rental cars are available at the airport, and the drive to Hanover takes approximately 2 1/2 hours. From the airport, drive through the Callahan Tunnel, follow signs to I-93 north, then follow the By Car directions from Boston above.

Dartmouth Coach, a local bus service, provides transportation from Logan Airport and from Boston's South Station to The Hanover Inn next to the Dartmouth campus. For more information, see By Bus directions below.

 

By Bus

From Boston: Service to the bus station in White River Junction, Vt. is provided by Vermont Transit.

From New York City: Service to the bus station in White River Junction, Vt. is provided by Greyhound (direct bus becomes Vermont Transit in Springfield, Mass.).

The White River Junction bus station is about seven miles from campus, and taxi service is available. Ask the taxi driver to take you to the circle in front of the Tuck School on the Dartmouth campus.

From Boston's Logan Airport and South Station: Service to the Hanover Inn next to the Dartmouth campus is provided by Dartmouth Coach. The cost is $35 one-way and $45 round-trip. Reservations are not accepted.

From Logan Airport, Boston: 8:45 A.M. (except Sunday), 10:45 A.M., 12:45 P.M., 2:45 P.M., 4:45 P.M., 6:45 P.M., 8:45 P.M.

From The Hanover Inn: 5:00 A.M. (except Sunday), 7:00 A.M., 9:00 A.M., 11:00 A.M., 1:00 P.M., 3:00 P.M., 5:00 P.M.

By Train

Amtrak provides daily passenger service from Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; New York; and intermediate points to White River Junction, Vt. Information is available on the Amtrak website or by calling +1-800-872-7245 from within the U.S.

The White River Junction train station is about seven miles from campus, and taxi service is available. Ask the taxi driver to take you to the circle in front of the Tuck School on the Dartmouth campus.
