Brij has 20 years of banking experience during which he has worked in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong, New Delhi, and Dubai. Most recently, Brij was the founding CEO and Managing Director of Julius B”ar (Middle East) Ltd, which he successfully led to being recognized by Banker Middle East magazine as the Best Private Bank in the region. Julius B”ar (Middle East) was the first bank to be granted a license to conduct business in the DIFC. Prior to that, Brij was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch & Co responsible for Private Banking in the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent. Whilst at Merrill Lynch, Brij led Merrill Lynch & Co. to being recognized as the “Financial Company of the Year” in the UAE by the Department of Economic Development.
Brij is a past Chairman of the Emirates chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization (“YPO”). He regularly writes articles on strategy and leadership development and is the author of “India Chalo” (2008) and “Wisdom Beyond Borders” (2006) both published by Harper Collins.
Brij received graduate training at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and is a graduate of St. Stephen’s College in Delhi, where he was elected President of the college.
