Sanjay Puri is the President and CEO of Optimos, Inc., a mid-sized IT services company with headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia. As a recognized authority on information technology, e-government and technology education, Mr. Puri was presented the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council’s (VMSDC) Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2004. In 2005, he was nominated by Accenture for the Small Contractor Executive of the Year Award. Mr. Puri is also the founder and chairman of the US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC), the single largest non-connected political organization representing the Indian American Community on Capitol Hill and before Executive Agencies. He is also the President of the US India Business Alliance.
Recently, Mr. Puri was appointed to the Virginia Governor-Elect’s 2006 Transition Committee, as well as the Virginia Attorney General-Elect’s 2006 Transition Committee. He is also serving on the Virginia Governor-Elect’s Technology Transition Policy Committee and is Co-Chairing the Virginia Attorney General-Elect’s Policy Committee on Internet Fraud and Identity Theft. Previously, he served on the Lieutenant Governor’s Commission on Small Business Health Insurance Costs. Prior to founding Optimos, Mr. Puri worked at the World Bank. He also served as CEO of Atlantic Microsystems, Inc., a health care services company.
Mr. Puri has an MBA, is a Certified Public Accountant and has completed his Ph.D. course work from George Washington University.
