Anupendra Sharma is an Investment Partner in the Medical Solutions Fund at Siemens Venture Capital in Boston. His areas of focus include med-tech devices, imaging equipment and applications, in-vitro and point of care diagnostics, biomarkers, navigation systems, healthcare IT and software and oncology therapy.
He previously was Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Siemens Corporation, responsible for Medical transactions in the USA. Anupendra has completed over $3 billion of acquisitions and divestitures, especially in the medical imaging, healthcare IT, software and healthcare services sectors. Prior to joining Siemens Corporation, Anupendra worked in investment banking at JPMorgan and Salomon Smith Barney, New York, strategy consulting for McKinsey, London, and Product Development Finance for Ford Motors, UK, where he was a member of the core team that launched Ford in China and India.
Anupendra is a Charter Member of TiE, Boston and Founder & Chairman of Mobile Medics, a social venture attempting to solve the last-mile problem for rural healthcare. Mobile Medics was named the “Most outstanding Social Venture” of 2006 at the Global Social Venture Competition and has also won several international awards. Anupendra also serves as mentor and advisor to several entrepreneurship centers in the US and India.
Anupendra holds an MBA from Cornell University; Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance from Manchester Business School; Master’s in Economics and Bachelor’s degrees in Instrumentation Engineering from BITS Pilani, India.
