Fed Governor and Treasury Under Secretary Lead Roster of Top Level Speakers at First Annual Tuck Global Capital Markets Conference
The Center for International Business at Tuck held its first annual Tuck Global Capital Markets Conference on February 15. "The leadership here at the Tuck School was prescient, even clairvoyant, in scheduling a conference on global capital markets at this time--the timing could not be better," said David McCormick, under secretary for international affairs for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in his address on open investment and American prosperity. The Keynote Address was delivered by Frederic Mishkin, Member of the Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve. Experts such as Gordon Dyal D'83 T'87, Head of Global M&A at Goldman, Sachs, and Robert Leary, Chairman & CEO of ING Investment Management Americas, discussed issues ranging from competition among global financial centers to the rise of sovereign wealth funds. Senior financial services professionals from across the United States attended the conference which was covered by over 35 news outlets.

2007-2008 A Banner Year for the Tuck Global Consultancy Program
The TGC program sent 83 students to complete projects for 11 clients in 22 countries. "It was the largest number of projects completed in any one time period during the past 11 years," said John Owens T'61, director of the TGC Program. Tuck teams worked in six new countries this year, notably Argentina and Chile in Latin America and Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE in the Middle East. Students Share Expertise in Tuck Country Chats
"Fun", "Educational", "Inspirational". These are some of the comments we've received from people who've attended the Tuck Country Chat series. Coordinated by the Tuck International Club, with support from the Center for International Business and the MBA Program Office, this series of student-led presentations are designed to provide the greater Tuck community with an opportunity to learn more about different countries in an informal setting. The Country Chat series will continue with the following presentations: Iran - March 27; Japan - April 3; Boliva - April 10 and others through mid May. Look for posters and emails with more details. All chats are scheduled in the Rosenwald Classroom from 12 - 1 pm and are open to the Tuck and Dartmouth community.
