Global Strategy of a Japanese Financial Institution: Will it Need to be Modified under the Present Global Economic Crisis?
Following the demise of Japan's "bubble economy" in the 1990's, Mitsubishi focused on its core strength - Asia. At the same time, in the view of Mr. Tanaka, US and European investment banks "danced to the music of the money game," and evolved into hedge funds, leading to their current precarious position and precipitating the global financial crisis. Mr. Tanaka, Deputy President of Mitsubishi UFJj Securities, speaks about this and the upcoming merger with Morgan Stanley in this CIB podcast interview. Learning Expedition: China - Student interviews
17 Tuck students participated in a 10-day learning expedition to China. The students visited four cities and eight organizations during spring break to learn about how business is currently conducted in the world's most populated country.
