The Evolution of the Newspaper Industry in the Electronic Era
Alan Murray, Executive Editor Online, The Wall Street Journal, shares his insights on the challenges and opportunities of running a newspaper in this highly competitive electronic era. He also discusses Rupert Murdoch and the merger with News Corp, The Wall Street Journal's strategies for preserving and increasing subscribers and advertising revenue, and their plans for increasing brand equity in emerging markets throughout the world. He concludes with a message for today's business and political leaders and those of the future about the need to educate people about the incredible benefits of free trade and globalization and the need to work together to help alleviate the hardship placed on those who are not benefiting.
