The CIB welcomed three guest speakers during the fall term to share
their expertise and their experiences with the Tuck community. The links

September 2010: Gabriel Jaramillo (pictured above) spoke
about his experiences as the new CEO of Sovereign Bank after it was
acquired by Santander of Spain. CIB Fellow Thiago Teodoro T'11
interviewed Mr. Jaramillo for the CIB podcast series.
2010: Shoei Utsuda, the Chairman of Mitsui & Co.,
Ltd., described the history of and the important role of trading
companies in Japan's economy, and he explained the emerging work
ethic of Yoi Shigoto.
November 2010: David Marchick, the
Managing Director and Global Head of External Affairs at The Carlyle
Group, offered his thoughts on the future global prospects for the
private equity industry. CIB Fellow Ambrose Usih T'11 interviewed

interviewed Dinesh Paliwal (pictured right), the President, Chairman, and
CEO of Harman International. Mr. Paliwal has vast experience working
in many different countries, and he offered his thoughts on how he has transformed Harman into a global
corporation and the lessons he's learned along the way.
Marketing is Extreme Marketing
Professor Peter Golder explains the relevance of approaching marketing
from a global perspective, and he talks about his experiences conducting
research in China.

Break Learning Expeditions: China and India
Two trips, one to India led by Professor
Praveen Kopalle and one to China with Professor Peter Golder, will depart
Hanover in March 2011 for spring break. Faculty-led Learning
Expeditions organized by the CIB offer students the chance to
experience different cultures and business environments first hand.
Participants gain valuable experience while talking to and networking
with alumni and business executives in the host countries.
