Learning Expeditions

In the 2008-09 academic year, the Center launched its first Learning Expedition. A group of 17 students, one Tuck staff member, and one Tuck faculty trekked to China to explore the culture and business model of the growing economy. They visited 8 organizations in 10 days and met with senior leadership to discuss the challenges and advantages of doing business in China.

The objective of the Learning Expeditions is to give students a first hand look at different cultures and how business is conducted in those environments. The students gain an invaluable experience of talking and networking business members in the host country and making important future contacts. In addition, they walk away with the knowledge of the best approaches to operating a successful company the host country's marketplace.
